Purpose

Review by an IRB is the cornerstone of an institution's program for the protection of human subjects. IRBs are responsible for ensuring that an institution meets the requirements of the federal regulations, and that the rights and welfare of the subjects are adequately protected. The Board reviews and has the authority to approve, require modification, or disapprove proposed and continuing research involving human subjects.

Information regarding the HFHS IRB is located on the HFHS Research Administration Intranet site.
