Types of IRB Review

There are 3 types of IRB review: Full, Expedited and Exempt. This section will discuss the types of review and help you to distinguish between them. The type of review for each proposal is based on the potential risk to subjects. The greater the potential risk to subjects, the more the proposal is examined by the IRB.
