Full Board Review

A full review consists of examination of the research proposal by an appointed IRB board, which consists of a minimum of 5 members. The application must be submitted by the deadline prior to a scheduled board meeting to ensure sufficient time for the member selection and review of documents. Please consult the meeting schedule on the Research and Education Intranet site for information about future meetings.

A full board review is necessary for any study involving:

  • Surgical procedures
  • A high risk/benefit ratio
  • Drugs or devices that have not been approved by the FDA

In addition, full review is necessary when vulnerable subjects are included in the study.
